Launching the first series of community awareness campaigns for the Faculty of Pharmacy

Based on the belief of the Faculty of Pharmacy and the Students for Egypt family in the important societal role played by educational institutions and to enhance the development of health awareness among school students and implement effective teaching and learning strategies.
Today, Sunday, 12-22-2024, the Faculty of Pharmacy launched the first series of community awareness campaigns targeting primary school students at Major Ahmed Mohamed Abdo Ismail School.
The campaign included awareness about healthy food under the slogan "Healthy family..Happy family."
The campaign was carried out by the fifth-year students of the Bachelor of Pharmacy program, Pharm D (Clinical Pharmacy), in cooperation with Students For Egypt at the Faculty of Pharmacy, under the patronage of His Excellency Prof. Dr. Mansour Hassan, President of the University.
His Excellency Prof. Dr. Shahira Fawzy El-Menshawy, Dean of the Faculty ,
 His Excellency Prof. Dr. Eglal Abdel Hamid, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Environmental Affairs and Community Service,
 and the supervision of Prof. Dr. Raghda Rushdi, Head of the Department of Clinical Pharmacy, 
and Dr. Nourhan Badr, Teaching Assistant in the Department.
Students for Egypt participated in organizing the campaign under the supervision of Assistant Professor Dr. Ahmed Farouk, the  Family Coordinator. Students for Egypt campaign was organized at the university, and Dr. Dina Amin, Family Coordinator at the faculty.
The campaign included an explanation of the food pyramid , the types of healthy and unhealthy foods. The school students participated with their information about healthy and unhealthy foods through a model prepared by the faculty students, in addition to the faculty students giving a presentation explaining healthy nutrition.
Some activities were also carried out, including colouring the Egyptian flag to enhance and develop a sense of belonging among students, in addition to holding competitions and distributing prizes to the winners.
The faculty and the family students  distributed brochures about the day, schedules of different foods, some advice, and some healthy foods such as dates, bananas, and oatmeal cookies.
The day ended with taking memorial photos.
