About organic chemistry department
The Department of Pharmaceutical Organic Chemistry at the Faculty of Pharmacy, Beni Suef University, is responsible for teaching many academic specializations for the Bachelor of Pharmacy program in pharmaceutical organic chemistry and its applications, as well as the clinical program.
The department's faculty members and supporting staff also seek to publish local and international scientific research in journals with high impact factors. In this context, the department and college were supported in 2013 with a nuclear magnetic resonance device to encourage researchers within the department to advance the research process.
Research activities within the department include the synthesis of cyclic compounds as anti-inflammatory agents, in addition to some other lines of research, such as the synthesis of cyclic compounds to combat cancer.
Department Vision:
Active participation in qualifying pharmacists and researchers with highly competitive capabilities
Department message:
The Department of Pharmaceutical Organic Chemistry aims to achieve excellence in the educational process for students of the College of Pharmacy at the undergraduate level. This comes in line with the university's vision to achieve local excellence among Egyptian universities. To achieve this, action is being made on two main axes:
The first axis: Providing high-quality study programs for undergraduate and postgraduate students. New and innovative ideas are constantly being searched to compensate for some of the shortages in chemicals and laboratory equipment. For example, student presentations on various research topics and online learning are used alongside traditional laboratory experiments.
The second axis: Encouraging basic and applied research and continuous development of the quality of research to reach international levels. More specifically, the department aims to produce scientific research that is published in internationally peer-reviewed journals with a high impact factor.
We strive to enhance and develop the capabilities of graduate students to achieve these goals by guiding them to develop some necessary skills such as in-depth and critical reading of research, presentation of scientific materials, continuous communication with scientific social networks and international electronic periodicals, and communication with scientific departments in the specialization in various faculties of pharmacy in universities. Egyptian and encouraging joint research between members of the department and researchers from Egyptian and foreign universities.
