About Pharmaceutical Chemistry department

The Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry is distinguished by its effective role in the scientific and practical fields, as the department teaches many courses to third and fourth year undergraduate students in addition to postgraduate students. The department also organizes many workshops, especially in the field of computer aided drug design, as the department has its own drug design laboratory that has modern computers equipped with specialized programs in the field of drug design for distinguished research purposes.

The Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry seeks to be a pioneer in achieving international educational standards and also in the field of scientific research. The department also seeks to be distinguished among the college’s departments and among the corresponding departments in other colleges in various fields of teaching.

The department seeks to improve the educational process in the field of pharmacy, as it offers an integrated and advanced study program, which contributes to producing qualified pharmacists and researchers who are leaders and innovative in their professional work and who have the ability to compete inside and outside the country in the pharmaceutical field.

Department objectives:
Students at the bachelor’s level are familiar with the basic scientific rules in the field of medicinal chemistry, which enables them to be able to deal with primary chemical pharmaceutical raw materials in their various pharmaceutical forms.
It also strengthens the scientific foundations for postgraduate students in the field of drug design, which helps them continue studying, researching, and keeping up with new drug discoveries.
