About pharmacology and toxocology department


The department teaches two sciences

1) Pharmacology:
The science of medicine is the study of different types of medicines, the mechanisms and reasons for their therapeutic use, their effects and possible interactions with other medicines. Basic Pharmacology: It is also the study of the therapeutic application of drugs and how to choose an optional drug when drugs interfere with a minor part or with body functions or a patient's medical condition.

2) Toxicology:
It is a specialized study on the toxic effects of drugs and chemicals, how poisoning with these substances occurs, and how to prevent, deal with, treat and prevent the complications of poisoning.

The department is equipped with laboratories with modern facilities to perform a variety of measurements, allowing research to be conducted in many different fields. The department's teaching and research activities cover various fields of pharmacy affiliated with Egyptian and Arab universities, and its research fields include treatment of liver cirrhosis, chemotherapy, neuropharmacology, pharmacy of prostate and ovarian diseases, pharmacy of diabetes and circulatory failure, and environmental toxicology.
