Regulation (DB)

Article (14): The following conditions must be met for a student to be registered for any of the postgraduate diplomas:

First: He must have obtained a Bachelor's degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences from any university in the Arab Republic of Egypt or an equivalent degree from another scientific institute recognized by the university.
Those who have obtained a Bachelor's degree from other faculties may be accepted for some diplomas as follows:
1- Those who have obtained a Bachelor's degree in Medicine and Surgery with a grade of (Good) at least, or a Bachelor's degree in Veterinary Science with a grade of (Good) at least, or a Bachelor's degree in Science, specializing in Biochemistry, with a grade of (Good) at least from one of the universities in the Arab Republic of Egypt or an equivalent degree from another scientific institute recognized by the university are accepted for study in the Diploma in Biochemical Analysis.
2- The study for the Diploma in Biotechnology is accepted if the holder of a Bachelor's degree in Science, specializing in Microbiology with a grade of (Good) at least, or a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, specializing in Chemical Engineering with a grade of (Good) at least, or a Bachelor's degree in Agricultural Sciences, specializing in Food Industries with a grade of (Good) at least from one of the universities of the Arab Republic of Egypt, or an equivalent degree from another scientific institute recognized by the university.

3- The study for the Diploma in Toxicology and Forensic Chemical Analysis is accepted if the holder of a Bachelor's degree in Science, specializing in Botany or Chemistry with a grade of (Good) at least from one of the universities of the Arab Republic of Egypt, or an equivalent degree from another scientific institute recognized by the university.

4- The study for the Diploma in Microbiology is accepted if the holder of a Bachelor's degree in Medicine and Surgery with a grade of (Good) at least, or a Bachelor's degree in Veterinary Medical Sciences with a grade of (Good) at least from one of the universities of the Arab Republic of Egypt, or an equivalent degree from another institute recognized by the university.
5- Those who have obtained a Bachelor's degree in Science, specializing in Botany with a grade of (Good) at least, or a Bachelor's degree in Agricultural Sciences, specializing in Plant Production Sciences or General Agricultural Production with a grade of (Good) at least, from one of the universities of the Arab Republic of Egypt, or an equivalent degree from another scientific institute recognized by the university, are accepted to study for the Diploma in Medicinal Plants.

6- Those who have obtained a Bachelor's degree in Science, specializing in Botany, Chemistry or Biochemistry with a grade of (Good) at least, or a Bachelor's degree in Agricultural Sciences, specializing in Food Sciences with a grade of (Good) at least, from one of the universities of the Arab Republic of Egypt, or an equivalent degree from another scientific institute recognized by the university, are accepted to study for the Diploma in Pharmaceutical Raw Materials Synthesis Technology.

7- Those who have obtained a Bachelor's degree in Science, specializing in Chemistry or Applied Chemistry with a grade of (Good) at least, from one of the universities of the Arab Republic of Egypt, or an equivalent degree from another scientific institute recognized by the university, are accepted to study for the Diploma in Food Analysis.
8- A Bachelor's degree in Medicine and Surgery with a grade of (Good) at least from one of the universities of the Arab Republic of Egypt or an equivalent degree from another scientific institute recognized by the university is accepted to study for a diploma in pharmacology.

Second: The student must devote himself to study:

Third: It is preferable that he has spent a period of no less than one year in a job related to the type of study he wishes to join:
Article (15): The College Council shall determine, based on the proposal of the relevant department councils and the approval of the Graduate Studies and Research Committee, the number and priorities of students accepted in each diploma.
Article (16): The duration of study for any of the graduate diplomas is one calendar year, and the College Council shall approve the distribution of study hours among the various courses in each diploma, specifying what is allocated to theoretical lessons and what is allocated to practical lessons.
Article (17): Before being allowed to take the exam, the student must conduct a research project that includes everything written about the research point in the scientific fields and periodicals until the date of submitting the research, and it includes a practical part. The department council shall appoint a supervisor from the faculty members to supervise it, and one hundred points shall be allocated to the project.

Article (18): Postgraduate diploma exams shall be held twice a year in November and April, and the student shall be allowed to retake the exam in the course he failed, without the other courses he previously passed.

Article (19): The student may not remain registered for more than two years except with an excuse accepted by the college council.

Article (20): The student who wishes to take the exam must register his name at least one month before the exam date, and he shall not be permitted to take the exam unless his attendance rate is not less than (70%) in the theoretical lectures and practical lessons in all diploma subjects. In the event of his deprivation, he shall retake all courses, study and exam.
Article (21): The following tables show the study courses in each diploma. The College Council, after taking the opinion of the relevant department councils, determines the subjects taught in each course.

The tables also show the written, oral and practical tests, the maximum final grades allocated for each exam and the duration of the written exam for each course.

Article (22): The College Council may organize the aforementioned courses in the form of integrated study units. It may also add other courses or delete any elective subjects, within the limits of the prescribed hours.

Article (23): For a student to succeed, the grade he obtains in the written exam must not be less than 30% of the grade allocated for the exam.
Article (24): The student’s success in the subjects is estimated in the general assessment by one of the following assessments:
Excellent from 85% or more of the total score
Very good from 75% to less than 85% of the total score
Good from 65% to less than 75% of the total score
Acceptable from 60% to less than 65% of the total score
As for the student’s failure from 30% to less than 60% of the total score
Weak from 30% to less than 60% of the total score
Very weak less than 30% of the total score
