An Important Awareness Seminar Entitled: “Safe Handling of Chemicals Inside Laboratories”

Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Tarek Ali, President of Beni-Suef University, and under the supervision of Professor Dr. Abu El Hassan Abdel Mawgoud, Vice President for Environmental Affairs and Community Service; Professor Dr. Shahira Fawzy El-Menshawy, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy; and Professor Dr. Eglal Abdel Hamid, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy for Environmental Affairs and Community Service; and in cooperation with the “Students for Egypt” Family,
In light of the Faculty of Pharmacy’s keenness at Beni-Suef University to ensure the safety of its students and researchers, and to raise their awareness of the risks associated with chemicals and the preventive procedures for their safe handling, an important awareness seminar was held on Wednesday, 11 February 2026, entitled:
 “Safe Handling of Chemicals inside Laboratories”
The seminar aimed to:
1. Enhancing awareness of the importance of laboratory safety.
2. Identifying the risks associated with chemicals.
3. Learning the preventive procedures for safe handling.

The seminar also witnessed distinguished attendance and fruitful interaction, addressing the most important occupational safety and health protocols within laboratories and methods of preventing chemical hazards.

The seminar was delivered by Dr. Moamen Lotfy, Lecturer of Pharmacognosy and Director of the Crisis and Disaster Management Unit at the Faculty, who shared his valuable expertise in crisis management and the proper handling of chemical substances.
