Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Tarek Ali, President of Beni Suef University, and under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Abu El-Hassan Abdel Mawgoud, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, and Prof. Dr. Hamada Mohamed, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, as well as the supervision of Prof. Dr. Shahira Fawzi El-Menshawy, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy; Prof. Dr. Eglal Abdelhamid, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development; and Prof. Dr. Adel Ahmed, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs, the University’s Unit for Combating Violence Against Women, headed by Dr. Ghada Atef, organized a seminar in cooperation with the National Council for Women in Beni Suef Governorate, headed by Ms. Narmeen Mahmoud, Branch Rapporteur, and in collaboration with the Faculty of Pharmacy.
The seminar, titled “Digital Violence and Electronic Blackmail,” was held on Wednesday, April 8, 2026. It was delivered by Ms. Enas Gomaa, Lawyer at the Women’s Complaints Office of the National Council for Women in Beni Suef. The seminar addressed the risks of digital violence, methods of protecting personal data, and an introduction to cybercrime, with active engagement and discussions from the faculty’s students to promote safe use of the digital space.
The seminar also covered forms of electronic violence, provisions of the Anti-Cyber and Information Technology Crimes Law No. 175 of 2018, methods of reporting such crimes, and the importance of preserving digital evidence in case of exposure to such violations.
The seminar was coordinated by Dr. Esraa Hanafy and Dr. Norhan Badr, coordinators of the unit within the faculty.
